Sir David Anthony Andrew Amess (born 26 March 1952) is a British Conservative Party politician. He has been a Member of Parliament (MP) since 1983, first for Basildon, and since 1997 for Southend West. He and his wife Julia have one son and four daughters. Their eldest daughter is actress Katie Amess.
