Green Party A Green approach to crime reduction places significant focus on the social causes of crime. As well as social crime prevention, this includes a broader range of social policies which will lessen the social pressures, such as poverty, inequality or addiction to illegal drugs, to commit crime. The party would create a Department of Crime Prevention: in addition to traditional modes of crime prevention, these departments will also promote social crime prevention. Liberal Democrat Liberal Democrat party propose to "provide experts on hand in courts and in police stations to identify where mental health or a drug problem is one of the main drivers behind an offender's behaviour so they can be dealt with in a way that is appropriate.
