DUP "The DUP will oppose any form of EU military integration and will defend the UK's sovereign right to govern its own defences and national security policy." The party will "Oppose any plans for an EU Military Headquarters, reject any attempts to centralise the procurement of weaponry and defence equipment throughout the EU, lobby the UK Government to opt out of any proposals for a common EU defence strategy." Green Party The Green Party opposes the creation of a European Army and its precursors such as the Rapid Reaction Force, and the use of the EU to sustain military adventures. We are particularly opposed to suggestions that there should be "Eurobomb" nuclear capability. The Green Party does not wish the European Union to become a continental military power. The EU should neither adopt the WEU as its military arm nor become the European pillar of NATO. We seek the dissolution of both those military alliances. Source: Green Party website

Plaid Cymru "Instead of moving towards setting up a European army, which is what some are trying to do, let's establish a European civilian peace corps. Not soldiers - but teachers, engineers, lawyers, all those people with skills that can work in areas of potential conflict to prevent violence and increase tolerance and understanding."
