Plaid Cymru Plaid Cymru is opposed to the welfare reform which links benefit payments to work and threatens benefit sanctions for those unable to meet unfair and unrealistic government demands. Plaid believes that this will simply result in a vicious cycle of people who live between in-work and out-of-work poverty.
Respect Party The Respect Party claim that the methods behind work capability testing has been unsuccessful, saying that it attempts to 'paint people on benefits as the cause of our problems'. Respect call for ATOS (the firm behind the fit-for-work scheme) should be scrapped, and a comprehensive welfare system to be provided for those who need it.
