Overview

ACCEA administers the National Clinical Excellence Awards Scheme and oversees Local Schemes which are run by local NHS employers. It advises Ministers on which consultants should receive new National Awards and whether existing award holders have provided satisfactory evidence for renewal.

Secretariat is provided by the Department of Health.
